On Monday October 31, 2005,
President Don Church (LTC Retired), Treasurer Ed Schenk (Col Retired ), Director
Bob Frankel (CPT 0-6 Retired) and Fred Gray (LTC Retired) went to Pasco/Hernando
Community College and presented a check for $3000 toward our Scholarship Fund.
It will be
matched by $2000 from the State of Florida. This will be added to $10000, which
we had given before, for a total of $15,000 your chapter has given in
scholarships. Doctors Katherine Johnson and Arla Altman accepted the check for
the Pasco/Hernando Scholarship Foundation. They will be at one of the
Jan-Feb-Mar meetings to talk about the Scholarship Foundation.
Quoted
below is a thank you email from Katherine Johnson of PHCC:
“Once
again...a very big "thank you" to you and your members for your support of this
scholarship program. You will never know just how much
your organization is helping our students. Our new PHCC Foundation
Executive Director, Arla Altman looks forward to making a presentation
at one of your meetings early next year! Take
care...and once again, our deepest appreciation for your support! Kathy
Johnson”
